Christian PATENAUDE began his training in Yoseikan aikido (aikido, judo, karate and ken) under Patrick AUGÉ Shihan in 1979.
He began teaching Yoseikan aikido at the Ottawa University in 1985 where he also obtained his degree in electrical engineering in 1987. Patenaude Sensei has been promoted to the Yoseikan Sandan (3rd dan) in 1989 by MOCHIZUKI Minoru Sensei (founder of Yoseikan aikido). That same year, he moved to Montreal where he founded many clubs.

In parallel, he followed the teaching of YUKATA Katsumata Sensei of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) and gets his Shodan (1st dan) in Shotokan Karate.

In the summer of 2001, he opened the Yoseikan Aikido Academy, where he teaches full time from 2001 to 2008 following which his permanent dojo is established in Montreal under the name of Gyokushin Ryu Aikido Academy.

The relationship between PATENAUDE Sensei and WASHIZU Sensei (Gyokushin Ryu Aikido founder) began in 1990 during his first stay at the Yoseikan hombu dojo (Shizuoka, Japan) led at that time by master MOCHIZUKI Minoru. PATENAUDE Sensei was promoted Gyokushin Ryu 6th Dan and was awarded the SHIHAN distinction by WASHIZU Sensei in 2015. PATENAUDE Sensei is the first instructor outside Japan who can test and award Gyokushin Ryu aikido grades and certificates.

Réjean HAMON started judo at the age of 15 years, the Canadian judo school, under the guidance of SUZUKI Minoru Sensei, then 4th dan.

When SUZUKI Sensei left Montreal, Réjean HAMON joined the Seidokwan Academy, under the guidance of NAKAMURA Hiroshi Sensei and later his brother, the late NAKAMURA Akio.

In the 70s, Réjean HAMON was part of the Quebec judo team and made an internship in Japan, accompanied by NAKAMURA Akio, at the Koma-Zawa University in Tokyo. But early on, it is the teaching of Judo that turned out to be his true passion. HAMON Sensei taught judo for ten years at the famous Shidokan judo club led by NAKAMURA Sensei.

As a Physical Educator, he also teaches police self-defense and yoga at de Maisonneuve College. He holds a Masters in Education with ground judo as subject teaching.

Raymond DELORME starts his practice of aikido in 2004 under the direction of PATENAUDE Sensei.

From 2007, before obtaining his first kyu (brown belt) in 2008, he began his teaching responsibilities by ensuring the regular tutelage of mid-day classes for beginning students.

He adds Kodokan Judo to his curriculum in 2009, under the direction of Réjean HAMON sensei at the Yoseikan Aikido Academy.

He received his rank of Shodan (1st dan) in 2014, his Nidan (2nd dan) in 2017 and continues to expand his teaching abilities by assisting Christian PATENAUDE Sensei in the duties of the intermediate and advanced classes.
